Hair Dye Tips

I dyed my hair the other day [Garnier 100% color 415 Frosted Deep Brown] and just wanted to share some tips with you I have found out over the years of dyeing my hair.. if you know any others post in the comments!

· If you have never dyed your hair before I would suggest using a semi-permanent dye first, it washes out after 6-12 washes and their won’t be a massive colour block from the dyed hair to your natural roots.
· Before Applying the dye put on an old T-shirt or something that zips/buttons up/or even an old dressing gown as you might spill dye on it and when you’re taking it off to was the dye out.
· Have old towels to hand after you was the dye out, you might still get colour payoff so best use old towels.
· Use Vaseline or moisturiser around face ears so you don’t dye your face ect.
· Apply dye to UNWASHED hair, the oils will help the dye adhere and protect your head from the dye.
· Use a shower cap/plastic bag over your hair while the dye is developing, it will trap heat and make the colour payoff happen quicker.
· Shampoo with cold/luke-warm water (it doesn’t have to be ice cold) as hot water fades colour quicker.
· Apply a deep-conditioning treatment or hydrating mask once a week to help keep your hair conditioned.
· Use UV protecting shampoo/conditioner if you’re out in the sun a lot to protect your hair from the UV light and sun damage to your hair, the sun can lighten/fade your dye.
